Baltara is a five campus school within the Victorian State Education system, located at Thomastown, Ascot Vale, Hurstbridge, Maribyrnong and Parkville. Each campus has its own unique function. The Thomastown campus is open to students referred by mainstream schools. The other four campuses operate within the Department of Human Services and enrolment is limited to the students residing in those facilities.
School Philosophy.
The Baltara School is committed to providing success-based, individual educational programs for students with a wide range of challenging behaviours, social disadvantage and significant emotional fluctuations. This involves accepting students as they are, planning individual programs to cater for their immediate needs; encouraging and supporting students to participate in the education programs; and linking students (wherever possible) with continuing, community educational resources for post Baltara participation.
